Commercial Plumbing Checklist for Spring 2020

As a family-owned and operated plumbing company, we understand how hard business owners in our community have been working to weather the COVID-19 crisis. You have plenty on your plate trying to run a business under normal circumstances, but the pandemic has added a whole new level of responsibility — not to mention extra stress.

If building maintenance is on your long to-do list this spring — and we bet it is — leave the plumbing part to us. We’re here to provide commercial plumbing service throughout Riverside County and the surrounding region. So whether your facility is fully operational right now, or you’re waiting for the chance to re-open, a preventative maintenance check by our team will help ensure that your plumbing system can handle the demands of your business moving forward.

The last thing you want is to deal with serious plumbing problems on top of everything else!

As part of a thorough seasonal tune-up, our expert technicians will inspect several key components of a plumbing system. Here’s our checklist:

Leaks — Leaks can be tricky because they’re not always obvious to the naked eye, but even the smallest leaks can end up damaging your property and driving up your utility bills. We look around the facility for evidence of moisture, such as standing water, water stains, or mold or mildew growth, and identify the source of the problem.
Pipes — We take a look at the state of your piping and make sure the build-up of rust or hard water scale hasn’t compromised the pipes’ structure or performance.
Drains — By testing each drain for flow rate, we can spot any clogs or slow drainage issues throughout the building and determine the best remedy. We can inspect the lines with a camera or flush out accumulated debris with our hydro jetting equipment.
Valves — Could you shut off the water in the event of an emergency? We make sure the answer is yes by inspecting safety valves throughout the system.
Water Pressure — Recommended water pressure for a building is between 65psi and 80psi, and excessive pressure can cause damage to the pipes. We make sure yours is at a healthy level.
Water Heater — Every aspect of this hard-working appliance needs to function properly in order for your building to get a steady supply of hot water. So we check the tank, drain valve, pressure valve, heating component and anode rod, in addition to inspecting for leaks and evidence of corrosion.
Backflow — Backflow testing by a trained professional is an essential part of commercial plumbing maintenance. It has to be done every year! A faulty backflow prevention device could allow contaminated water to flow from your building into the community water supply.
